For now we live together with three different
breeds, there is the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, they are
5 of them,
and since 2008 two Border Collies (male & female) came
to join, and our third breed is little “Imke” a
Nederlandse Schapendoes (Dutch Sheepdog), who arrived in
may 2011. You can see her as a 8 week old puppy on the front
page.
Our first love was the Old English Sheepdog, we owned them
as off the 80-ties; we do not breed the Petit Basset Griffon
Vendeen (PBGV) anymore, and the Border Collie has always
been this kind of hidden wish to own.
Since the PBGV is a true hunting dog, difficult to run free
without a leash, the Border Collie is completly the opposite
! So a super nice experience after living toghether for so
many years with dogs that had to stay on the leash most of
the time. Some could run free, but the ones with all the
true hunting spirits.....hmmmm different story !
And “Imke”....she has brought
us back to the Old English Sheepdogs but just a few sizes
smaller. And she
fits into the family so perfectly ! We love her to pieces
already !!!!!
So, if you like, click on their names and you will find
out more about them.
The PBGV’s still “own” their
own website...of course....you can meet them here:
www.petitbasset.info and follow their latest adventures,
pictures and stories.
